Documenting Bronagh and Barry’s Wedding was so much fun! Everything was laid back and the atmosphere was just amazing!! It was the perfect wedding venue hidden away in what felt like the middle of nowhere.
As wedding photographers, we always go a week before the wedding to scope out the location and touch base with the hotel staff. We class it as a road trip, a day out, an adventure but really its a reconnaissance mission aka a Dean+Ella recce. The day of the recce, it was sunny and hot. The day of the wedding it was not.
Thankfully we did do a recce because the interior of the hotel is amazing and we had plenty of time to check it out and plan some shots. If I was planning on eloping to Ireland, I would most definitely be looking for a real, rustic Irish wedding venue, and The Woodenbridge Hotel, in Arklow has all that on offer. We made good use of this while the rain was bucketing down.
Nevertheless, we were in a place called Woodenbridge, and we happened to be documenting a wedding story. So it didn’t feel complete with out a picture of the beautiful newly weds on the bridge. Thankfully the rain stopped and just after the dinner we headed out for a bit of fun.
Every wedding as an after party and one of the perks of the the job is that we sometimes tag along.
It was an action packed day and the boys at N&A Meats Kildare put on some serious feast.
Thanks for having us!!!
